The Tea Program The Zen Living Art Series program will focus on a newly bred Taiwanese high mountain tea and Jasmine flower tea for demonstration and tasting, along with specially designed programs in each month. ‘Bring the Aroma of Jasmine Tea and Art Home” will be a main theme of the program. All events will involve appreciating the most modern blossoming tea – first sight of the tea ball, its slow dispersal in water, the resultant jasmine tea taste and visual enjoyment. Jasmine tea ball element: The outside layer is composed of green tea and silver-needle-white tea. The middle is packed with thousand-day-in-red flower tea. The tea is smoked over Jasmine flowers and then baked until the Jasmine flavor soaks deeply into the tea leaves. Jasmine tea ball characteristics: Starting off looking like a thread ball, the tea slowly scatters after being steeped in hot water. Green tea and silver-needle-white tea extend gradually, and the jasmine tea smell spreads through the air. The tea ball opens, as does a flower blossom. The whole process of blossoming takes about 3-5 minutes. It is best to use a red wine glass, so that you may appreciate clearly the tea flower’s blossom. The most appropriate water to pour over the tea is 80℃-90℃. Tea flavor: The tea flower’s flavor is very soft and light, so the flavors of the light tea and the green tea remain prominent. After the tea has been prepared and tasted, the tea fragrance will last several minutes longer.
